The initial debate on media integrity in the SEE region and Montenegro within the framework of regional project "South East Europe Media Observatory" will take place on 12th May 2015 in Podgorica. It will be held under the title "Do media and journalists serve to public or have they been seized by individual, private interests?"

The conference will gather key actors in Montenegrin media, relevant state institutions and civil society organizations, who will, together with guests from the region, discuss practices relevant to media integrity, define obstacles and propose future solutions for this problem.

The debate will include around 15 participants, and it will be attended by the Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, Mr. Mitja Drobnič. Full Agenda (in Montenegrin language) is available here.

Note: Montenegro, together with Turkey and Kosovo, has joined the Project in 2015. Previously, the partnership included Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia,  Slovenia and Serbia, working on defining and overcoming obstacles for democratic development of media through monitoring of media policies, ownership, financing, public service functioning and journalistic practices.
