Turkish media brazenly supported the government party, and it is not surprising

Veteran Turkish journalist Tuğrul Eryılmaz, winner of Journalists Association of Turkey 2014 Press Freedom award, explains how the  media coverage during  the run-up to Turkey’s national elections might have affected the outcome of the ballot. Media ownership structures, self-censorship and government-business relations have contributed to the creation of a media that unabashedly supported the AKP government.
